NEW YORK – The New York City Police are investigating the death of an 86-year-old man who was found dead in a boat that caught fire in Brooklyn on Saturday.
According to the authorities’ report, the Police responded to a 9-1-1 call about a boat set on fire, at about 6:15 am, at Puerto 5 de la Marina in the Brooklyn Bridge Park.
Upon arrival city firefighters found a 52-foot boat on fire. When they turned them off, firefighters found an 86-year-old man in the boat’s hull, who has not yet been identified, and who was transported to Kings County Hospital where he was declared dead.
The forensic doctor will determine the cause of death of the victim.
Authorities are still investigating what caused the incident.
