Amsterdam supermarket heavily damaged by ram and thud

A branch of supermarket chain Albert Heijn in Amsterdam Nieuw-West was badly damaged last night by a ram and thud. The perpetrators have fled.

Around 3 a.m. tonight a yellow Fiat Panda hit the facade of the supermarket on Osdorpplein. The perpetrators then entered the building to commit a thrash at the cash machine. It is not known whether money has been taken.

The police report that the perpetrators have left the car and that they have fled with a scooter. The Explosives Clearance Service Defense was called in to conduct further investigation into the thud.
