Amoxicillin is an antibiotic drug that belongs to the penicillin group. WHO has included amoxicillin in the category as an important drug, Mother. Usually, amoxicillin is prescribed by doctors to treat bacterial infections, such as strep throat, tonsillitis, bronchitis and pneumonia. In nursing mothers, this one drug is also often prescribed for mastitis.
