The expulsion of immigrants who have been in the country for a long time without criminal records and were never undocumented and the separations of families at the border despite a court order prohibiting doing so marked the immigration policy of the U.S. government in 2019.
–
This is based on the fact that there are no signs of finding a permanent political solution for the 11 million undocumented people living in the country, including some 700,000 dreamers.
–
From the first days of January the government threatened more raids, new restrictions, derogations and changes to immigration law regulations, all without the participation of Congress.
