Secretary of the Security Council of the Russian Federation Nikolai Patrushev in an interview published on March 27 “Rossiyskaya Gazeta” assessed the chances of Russia in a possible war against the United States.
The comment of the Russian politician was prompted by information about a possible preventive strike against the Russian Federation “in the event of a direct conflict” between the two states, Patrushev called the opinion that after that “Russia will no longer be able to respond” “very dangerous” and “short-sighted stupidity”.
According to the secretary of the Russian Security Council, “forgetting the lessons of history, some in the West are already talking about revenge, which will lead to a military victory over Russia.”
“To this we can say one thing. Russia is patient and does not intimidate anyone with its military advantage. But it has modern unique weapons capable of destroying any enemy, including the United States, in the event of a threat to its existence,” Patrushev said.
