Robin Kaye, a respected music supervisor for the popular show American Idol, and her husband, Thomas Deluca, were discovered deceased in their Encino, California residence on Monday. Both individuals were 70 years old.

Los Angeles Police Department officers responded to a welfare check at the San Fernando Valley home, where they found the couple. Authorities have arrested and charged a 22-year-old Encino resident, Raymond Boodarian, with double murder in connection with the incident.

According to The Los Angeles Times, investigators believe kaye and Deluca were killed on July 10th after interrupting Boodarian during a burglary of their home. A violent confrontation reportedly ensued, resulting in the homeowners being shot multiple times.

“we are devastated to hear of Robin and her dear husband, Tom’s, passing,” an American Idol spokesperson stated. “Robin has been a cornerstone of the Idol family sence 2009 and was truly loved and respected by all who came in contact with her. Robin will remain in our hearts forever and we share our deepest sympathy with her family and friends during this difficult time.”

Kaye’s extensive career in music supervision also included work on the NAACP Awards and Lip sync battle. She previously held the position of vice president for the Guild of Music Supervisors.
