SANTO DOMINGO, RD.- American Airlines welcomed this Wednesday, November 3, 2021, the new route that will connect Punta Cana with Austin, Texas.
The information was released by Mr. Oliver Bojos, General Director of American Airlines for the Dominican Republic, who highlighted that through the economic reactivation of the country new destinations have been included in this year 2021. “We are very excited to offer our customers more flight opportunities and the launch of this new destination will allow the country grow the supply of tourists and business visitors. Austin is an increasingly important market for our customers ”, he highlighted.
The new route left for the first time from the Austin Bergstrom International Airport (AUS) to the Punta Cana International Airport (PUJ) on Wednesday, November 3 at 8:05 am (local time), arriving on Dominican soil at 1:43 pm The flight later left Punta Cana at 2:00 pm, arriving in Austin at 5:53 pm
The new destination will operate on Mondays, Wednesdays, Fridays and Sundays, departing from PUJ at 4:00 pm and arriving in Austin at 6:45 pm (local time).
These flights will be operated in a Boeing 737 with capacity for 172 people and are already available for reservation.
Currently American offers more than 104 weekly flights from the country, connecting Santo Domingo, Punta Cana, Santiago, Puerto Plata and Samaná with the airline’s hubs in Charlotte, Chicago, Dallas / Fort Worth, Miami and Philadelphia.
