Funding Available for Early-career Sleep Researchers
The American Academy of Sleep Medicine (AASM) Foundation, a leading institution supporting sleep research for the past 25 years, is now accepting applications for its Bridge to Success for Early Career Investigators grant program. This program is designed to provide crucial funding – up to $100,000 – to promising scientists in the field of sleep and circadian science.
The grant specifically targets researchers who have previously submitted a mentored, federal career development grant submission (to agencies like the NIH or Veterans’ Management) that was not funded, but who intend to revise and resubmit. It offers a “bridge” of financial support to allow researchers to strengthen their applications and continue their vital work.
Eligibility requires a doctoral-level degree (MD, DO, DDS, DMD, DNP, DNSc, PharmD, PhD, or equivalent) and a prior application for a multi-year career development grant that underwent peer review but did not receive funding. The AASM Foundation seeks projects addressing notable unanswered questions in sleep and circadian science, sleep disorders, and sleep health.
The application deadline is January 5, 2026. Complete program guidelines and application instructions are available on the American Academy of Sleep medicine website: https://foundation.aasm.org.
