AMD: MSI builds portable notebook with AMD Ryzen

The hardware company MSI presented its modern 14 mobile working notebook with Ryzen CPU without any major announcement. Previously, the device was also available with an Intel chip from around $ 650. The Vega 7 GPU is also integrated. The Intel version uses a dedicated Nvidia Geforce MX350 instead.

The 14-inch IPS display is the same size and has a resolution of 1,920 x 1,080 pixels. The notebook has space for an NVMe SSD via the individual M.2 slot. A WLAN module with Wi-Fi 6 functionality is preinstalled.

Enough connections available

The notebook has two USB-A sockets, which are only specified for USB 2.0. A micro SD card reader can also be used. USB-C 3.2 Gen1 is also available. An external display can be connected to the HDMI 2.0a port. The battery uses three cells and is designed for a maximum of 52 watt hours. The dimensions of the notebook are 32 x 22 x 17 cm. MSI will offer further Renoir notebooks with an AMD CPU. Among them are Bravo 15 and Bravo 17th with 15 and 17 inch screens. Other providers like Lenovo and HP work on their own notebooks with the new AMD chip. This may make the mobile market somewhat more heterogeneous and less dominated by Intel.
