AMC IA: A Futuristic Film Selection Taking Over Colombia

BogotaJune 2023 – AMC presents a new special of futuristic films in “AMC IA”. A selection of films ideal for those curious about ChatGPT and alternative futures. Next Friday June 23 and Saturday June 24 starting at 6:15 pm (Colombia time).

This programming special features the films:

Alpha Code (2020). Johana must hide from UN Agent Bowie, head of a confidential space program. On her journey, she meets Martin and Lance, a former Bowie classmate, whom she teams up with to help Martin find his half-alien daughter.

After Earth (2013). Starring Will and Jaden Smith. The film takes place in a context where humans had to leave Earth to live on Nova Prime. Cyper Raige (Will Smith) returns with his son (Jaden Smith) to Earth for a mission. However, he is attacked by an asteroid storm that damages his ship and crashes against the unknown and dangerous planet for them since all living beings try to eliminate man.

Life: Smart Life (2017). Roy Adams (Ryan Reynolds), Roy Adams (Ryan Reynolds), David Jordan (Jake Gyllenhaal) and the crew of the International Space Station travel to Mars in order to test whether samples collected on the red planet show signs of intelligent life. When one of the scientists on board examines the only cell found, the entire team witnesses an unusual event: unquestionable proof that there is extraterrestrial life.

The Invasion (2010). After a night out, a group of friends are woken up in the middle of the night by a mysterious light coming from the window. The light slightly draws the image of people who then suddenly disappear. Thus they will discover that an otherworldly force is swallowing the entire population of Earth. This group of survivors will have to fight for their lives while the whole world falls apart around them.

Stargate: The Gate of Time (1994). Colonel ‘Jack’ O’Neil is involved in a top-secret mission to investigate a mysterious artifact that has been unearthed in Egypt. To do this, he must collect all the information possible in order to guarantee the protection of the human species. Together with his team, they will realize that it is something known as the “Star Gate”, which they go through and end up being transported to another world.

Risk Experiment (2016). An Oxford PhD student named Ana is unable to create new memories after being exposed to an experiment whose goal was to create a wormhole and travel through it. The plot unfolds as Ana tries to understand her situation and discover who is behind the horrors that threaten her existence.

The Legacy of Osiris (2016). In a context of interplanetary colonization, the story follows Sy Lombork, a wanderer with a dark who will help Kane Sommerville, a lieutenant who works for the military contractor Exor. In a fight against time they will have to rescue Kane’s daughter, and they will have to face an imminent global crisis caused by Exor.

Robot Supremacy (2014). Earth was conquered by robots from a distant galaxy. Survivors are confined to their homes and forced to wear electronic implants, risking being incinerated by robotic sentinels if they attempt to escape.
