“Upper Palatinate urban” was the motto for the photo competition of the online platform Oberpfalz-Marketing (oberpfalz.de) in November 2020. However, it was won by a Middle Franconian – with a motif from Amberg, probably the most Upper Palatinate of all Upper Palatinate cities. You can see the city glasses at night, photographically captured very elaborately. As the winner in the subsequent online voting, Christian Weber alias mr.schneemann, says, he drives – or rather he drove before the current lockdown – regularly through the regions around Nuremberg and photographed various sights.

“I just want to bring them closer to people,” says the man from Nuremberg as a motive for this. “None of my friends knew the city glasses, for example,” he says. With a tripod, a long exposure time and various filters, the 42-year-old captures his motifs on the memory chip.
