The main owner of AFK Sistema, Vladimir Yevtushenkov, said that the interest of foreign investors in Ozon is very high. The businessman also spoke about the immediate plans for the development of the platform.
Amazon, the world’s largest online retailer, was interested in participating in the capital of the Russian online store Ozon, the main owner of AFK Sistema (owns about 43% of Ozon) Vladimir Yevtushenkov told reporters.
AFC said earlier that they were considering attracting investors to Ozon and did not rule out an IPO of the retailer. In October 2019, Yevtushenkov said that an IPO of an online retailer could be held on the London and Moscow exchanges if the company was ready.
“Foreign investors are very interested in Ozon. I can say that this is the only company in Russia that Amazon considered in terms of participation and considered Softbank. This already suggests that the radar is a very important asset. And we are very glad that we have increased the package (in Ozon – ed.), ”Yevtushenkov said.
Yevtushenkov noted that Ozon is “a few steps from profitability and perfectly prepared for an IPO. The whole question is when to do this in order to achieve the most significant effect. It (the company – ed.) Is developing quite strongly, and so far I do not see any tendency to slow down, ”the businessman added.
