Amazon expands its empire in media and entertainment

DECRYPTION – In quick succession, the group founded by Jeff Bezos acquired the MGM studios, but also the rights to world series and finally sports rights. A giant that is beginning to overshadow Netflix and Disney.


To consolidate its dominance in online commerce, Amazon is building a jack-of-all-trades empire. In the midst of a pandemic, this hybrid model is showing a growth rate of over 40%. Apple has thought about it. Amazon does this by becoming the first digital giant to afford a historic Hollywood studio, MGM, for $ 8.45 billion.
