Amazon Echo Show 15, the connected screen arrives in France on February 17

And four! After the Echo Show 5, 8 and the 10 model, which we tested last May, here is the Echo Show 15. This connected screen was announced in September, but was not yet available in France. This is now done with the start of pre-orders, for delivery from February 17.

It’s Amazon’s largest Echo Show, with a 15.6-inch Full HD touchscreen. It can be positioned horizontally or vertically, fixed to the wall (note the weight of 2.2 kg), or put on a stand, unfortunately sold as an option.

Thanks to Alexa widgets, he offers tools to organize his day: calendars, personal reminders, to-do lists, shopping lists and reminders.
In addition, each family member can create their own profile and access it through a facial or voice identifier. Amazon specifies that biometric data is saved locally and remains on the machine.

Enjoy movies and TV shows

The Echo Show 15 also acts as an entertainment unit for watching movies and series (Amazon Prime Video, Netflix, Molotov), listening to music (Spotify, Amazon Music, Apple Music, Deezer), but also podcasts and audio books.
You can also use the screen as a photo frame connected with Amazon Photos, or to view the image from a compatible surveillance camera.

The device has a 5-megapixel front camera to identify itself or make video calls with other Alexa devices. That’s a little disappointing compared to the Echo Show 10’s 13-megapixel camera.
To protect your privacy, Amazon has provided a physical shutter to hide the camera, as well as a switch to mute the microphone.

The Echo Show 15 is powered by an Amlogic Pop1 (eight-core) SoC, with the Amazon AZ2 (four-core) engine for neural networks. This chip is used, for example, for facial identification. The screen also has Bluetooth and Wi-Fi 6 interfaces, as well as two 41mm speakers. How to position yourself as a competitor to Facebook’s Portal+?
