Amateur League: the executive office explains the delay in competitions, and rings the bell

CONAKRY- the management team of the Guinean amateur football league was in front of the press this Friday, to explain the causes of the delay in the organization of certain competitions. The executive office set up in February 2021, somehow organizes certain competitions that fall within its prerogatives. However, he says he has trouble organizing all the competitions under his jurisdiction.

For good reason, the lack of financial means made available to it. This dismemberment of the Guinean Football Federation brings together a total of 75 local clubs, namely the national division 1 composed of 20 clubs, the national 2 composed of 45 clubs and the honor division composed of 10 clubs.

» The national division 1, we were able to organize the 2021-2022 season, but there is still the 2022-2023 season, in national 2 we have two seasons to play, namely the 2021-2022 season and that of 2022-2023, and c It’s the same for the honor division. We are in a bit of a critical situation.” explains the President of the Guinean Amateur Football League, Thierno Abdoulaye BAH.

This situation, described as critical by the number 1 in amateur football, is very worrying, especially since the very organization of the various elite championships is in danger, due to a lack of resources. » You know that the organization of each competition depends on another. Once league 1 is finished, you must finish league 2 before starting a new league 1 season; and you can’t start league 2 without national 1 being organized so on. This means that if we continue like this, there is a risk of having a blockade at least for league 2 from next season (2023-204) ” worries Namory Sylla, first vice-president in charge of competitions.

A concern that the officials of the Guinean amateur football league want to resolve to avoid the blockade, but its multiple approaches to the Guinean Football Federation through the competitions commission, have not produced any effect for the moment, according to them.

For the holding of these various competitions not yet organized, it takes a little more than one billion six hundred million Guinean francs (1,600,000,000 GNF), conclude these officials.
