Amal Jyoti College Student’s Death: Investigation Urged by Minister of Higher Education

The family had alleged that the reason for Shraddha’s death was the mental torture of the college teachers including the head of the department. It is also said that the college authorities deliberately failed to take the girl to the hospital. Shraddha, a native of Thripunithura Thiruvankulam, attempted suicide in the college hostel on Friday night. But the college authorities told the doctor that the child had fallen due to dizziness. Shraddha’s relative said that if they had said that it was a suicide attempt, they would have received treatment according to that situation. The teachers had confiscated the mobile phone used in the lab of the college. Shraddha was found hanging from the fan of the college hostel at nine o’clock that night, but she was rushed to the hospital but could not be saved. Students started a protest at Amal Jyoti College in Kathirapalli over Shraddha’s death. Students are protesting inside the campus demanding action against those responsible for Shraddha’s death.
