According to an UNIAN correspondent, this was announced during a briefing by the head of the regional military administration Sergey Gaidai.
“Almost the entire territory of the Luhansk region has been captured, but fighting is still going on in two settlements. Therefore, they have not yet reached the administrative borders of the Lugansk region. But they are still trying to completely capture the region, firing non-stop. They suffered huge losses, and they don’t even count how many people they lost,” Gaidai said.
According to him, the residents of the region are hardly ready for any resistance so far, because the war has been going on for many years, and all this time they have been fed Russian propaganda.
“Some people are starting to come to their senses. They are frightened by the shelling and explosions that are taking place there. Secondly, they do not want to go to war as cannon fodder,” he said.

He said that now the situation with the so-called mobilization is so bad that the invaders are resorting to different methods. For example, utility companies make an announcement that they are recruiting employees under a reservation from the army, after which they are handed a summons and sent to fight.
He also stressed that so far the only way to evacuate from the Luhansk region is to leave through Russia to other countries.
As UNIAN reported earlier, according to the Ministry of Defense, in the occupied territories, the invaders increased the scale of forced mobilization of those liable for military service. Also they continue preparations for the “referendum” and to the attempted illegal annexation of the temporarily occupied territories of Donetsk and Luhansk regions.
