Since October 1, 982 corona patients have been transferred from one of the Belgian hospitals to another hospital. One in five transfers was destined for a hospital in East Flanders, 25 patients were taken to Germany. This is evident from a press release from the federal public health service.
The transfers are part of the distribution plan for hospitals that has been operational for several months. Hospitals that have reached their capacity for COVID-19 patients can transfer patients to other hospitals that still have available beds.
Germany
From October 1 to November 6, 982 corona patients were transferred to another hospital. Most of the transfers were made to a hospital in East Flanders (191 times). Antwerp (133) and Brussels (112) hospitals also received more than a hundred corona patients from other hospitals. Twenty-five times a patient was taken from Belgium to a hospital in Germany.
On Friday, November 6, 37 COVID-19 hospital transfers took place, according to figures from the FPS Public Health.
