The national government is distributing until next Tuesday a batch of 1,376,025 doses of vaccines against the coronavirus in the 24 jurisdictions across the country, according to the criteria established by the Ministry of Health, based on the number of population in each district, it was officially reported.
The distribution, which began in the last hours of this Sunday, corresponds to 842,400 doses of AstraZeneca that arrived in the country last Thursday donated by Spain through the COVAX Mechanism, the global initiative for equitable access to vaccines against the disease.
Last August, Spain began donating 7.5 million vaccines to Latin American and Caribbean countries through this system.
In addition, 533,625 doses of Sputnik V component 2 will be distributed, which will make it possible to complete the vaccination schedule.
