Allotment gardens come back to life in Castelnau-de-Médoc

The allotment gardens will resume service at a place called La Planchette. Launched in 2016 by the municipality, the idea was to provide plots of land for Castelnaudais who do not have a garden.

After a year of dormancy due to the health crisis, the gardens will soon emerge from oblivion.

Recently, the CCAS organized a meeting with the new gardeners. The 10 plots of 100 m² are all booked, with 80 to 90% new tenants.

A collective plot, reserved just before confinement for students and residents of the Meduli nursing home, is pending. It could accommodate children who will return to the new school located nearby.

Gardeners will be involved for the sustainability of the gardens. The idea of the CCAS is to stimulate a dynamic and make the spaces more collective by advocating mutual aid and the exchange of good practices.

Supported by the technical services, the gardeners cleaned the plots and the huts will soon be renovated.
