This new poetic anthology by the Cartagena writer contains nine unpublished poems and is composed of fragments of 33 collections of poems that were released between 1929 and 1988. Which means, not only a complete tour of the author’s work in verse, but also the history of 20th century Spain, from the Silver Age to democracy. As the editor of the volume, Fran Garcera, explains: “Carmen Conde’s poetry is timeless and we can find, in its reading and rereading, the actuality of our present from the past. In one of her collections of poems written during the Civil War, the poet claimed that no one knew where the light was, but that she firmly believed in her own. Hence the verse that gives this book its title: ‘All of you learn from me to carry the flame very upright’. In these times that we live in, we can find in her a true banner of hope ”.
