All of the Russian reserve troops will be on their way to Sevierodonetsk:

Russia is said to be sending a large number of reserve troops to Sevierodonetsk.

Luhansk Governor Serhiy Hajdaj said this on national television, according to Reuters.

– Today, tomorrow and the day after, they will send in everything they have of reserve resources. There are many of them there already, this could be a critical point, says Hajdaj.

This has not yet been confirmed by the Russian side.

Fighting on

The governor confirms that Russia already controls large parts of Sevierodonetsk, but that some areas still remain.

– They do not control the city completely, says Hajdaj.

He describes the situation as very worrying. Among other things, the situation is very serious for the more than 500 civilians hiding in the chemical factory Azot without the possibility of evacuation.

On Saturday night, there are also reports that more people are injured after the Russians attacked an oil depot in the city with rockets.

– Our defenders are fighting against Russians in all directions, Hajdaj says on the messaging service Telegram.

Fierce fighting is also taking place in the villages of Toshkivska and Zolota, which are not far from Sevierodonetsk.

– Will win

Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyj visited the southern city of Mykolaiv on Saturday. A number of photos and videos from the visit were published on the president’s Telegram account on Saturday night.

In one of the messages, Zelensky honors the soldiers who are fighting for the country, and is clear that the fighting spirit is still present.

– Our brave boys and girls are fighting, they are all well trained, and do everything to protect the country. We will definitely survive, and we are guaranteed to win, says the president in one of the messages.

Questions about time

TV 2 has previously spoken with Lieutenant Colonel Palle Ydstebø, who was then aware that Russia will probably be able to conquer the visiting areas of Luhansk.

Nevertheless, he believes Ukraine still has a chance to win the war.

– It may be possible, but it depends on Russia’s strength further in the war. It will take time before Ukraine receives the maximum benefit from the weapons aid from the West, and in order for Russia to gain the upper hand, they must be able to compensate for their losses before that time, he says.

He emphasizes that Russia is struggling with progress, even though they are now working on relatively small fronts.

– It is a question of time before one of the countries gets the upper hand to continue the war. For that to happen, one of the parties must be forced to his knees, says Ydstebø.
