The Spanish region of Catalonia will be under quarantine due to the coronavirus epidemic, local government chief Quim Torra announced on Friday evening. Around 7.4 million people live in this region, the capital of which is Barcelona.
No more transport can go to Catalonia
The Catalan leader asked for help from the Spanish government in order to be able to correctly apply this measure. No more plane, train or boat can go to Catalonia.

The number of infections in the Covid-19 region soared on Friday from 20 to 58. Three people died there. Previously, 70,000 people had already been placed in quarantine in Catalonia.
