► Alexanderplatz – a traffic junction in Berlin’s city center – is considered a crime focal point. The place had been discredited by a series of brawls, stabbings and numerous pickpockets.

The police intensified their measures there. Since the end of 2017 there has been a separate police station between the world clock and the fountain of international friendship. Thousands of people pass the central hub every day.
