Alexander Schlager will leave LASK in the summer

LASK loses a leader.

Goalkeeper Alexander Schlager will not extend his contract, which expires in summer 2023, at his request.

“It’s time for a new challenge. I really enjoyed being at LASK, I had many unforgettable moments. Of course, such a decision is not easy,” explains the 26-year-old.

Schlager has been goalkeeper for Linz since the 2017/18 season.

“We already considered this scenario in the summer, which is why we extended the contract with Tobias Lawal on a long-term basis,” said LASK sporting director Radovan Vujanovic, who is hopeful for next season:

“Tobias is ready, he wants it. And Alexander is a full professional, he will give everything for LASK until the last minute, I’m sure.”

The 22-year-old Lawal comes from his own lineage, attended LASK Academy Upper Austria and was promoted to the professional squad in 2018.
