Alexander Isak won the Europa League

Alexander Isak had gone goalless from the four initial La Liga rounds and hoped for a trend break against PSV in the group stage premiere of the Europa League.

The Swedish national team striker started the match briskly and posed major problems for the PSV defense. But it was still the Dutch who controlled the game – and after half an hour of play, Mario Götze fixed the lead.

The cheers in Eindhoven were short-lived, however, because just a few minutes later Adnan Januzaj equalized – and then Alexander Isak was able to put it 2-1.

The 21-year-old evicted forward after a shot from the right and bumped the ball on half volley.

A long-awaited first goal of the season – but also the Swede’s first ever in a major European club team tournament.

PSV came back at the beginning of the second half. Mario Götze broke in from the left, tunneled right-back Joseba Zaldúa and played forward Cody Gakpo who pushed in 2-2 from close range.

Neither Isak nor the others on the field scored any more goals.

In the 83rd minute, the Swede is replaced by Norwegian attacking colleague Alexander Sørloth.

Leicester also got settle for one point after 2-2 at home against Napoli.

Ayoze Pérez opened the scoring early in the first half and when Harvey Barnes extended to 2-0 with 25 minutes left in the match, the victory looked safe.

But Victor Osimhen wanted something else.

The Nigerian attacking star reduced for Napoli with 20 minutes left and just before extra time he was served by Matteo Politano and shaved the equalizer in an empty goal cage.
