The ageless actress Alena Antalová, who is celebrating her 50th birthday, has an interesting past behind her. Shortly after she won the Thalia prize in 1999, she became a maringotka woman and toured with the circus for three years.
Love was to blame. She fell in love with Jiří Berousk, the director of the famous circus, and rode with him around all the circuses. “It was fun. I like to travel, I guess I have a bit of that gypsy nomadic soul in me. It was amazing,” Alena Antalová recalled for Deník. Acting went by the wayside then. She devoted herself fully to the circus and did everything that was needed in it. She sold tickets, played the piano in a circus band or sold popcorn.
The relationship with Berousek lasted three years. But they parted amicably and still like to see each other to this day. “Suddenly, I sobbed terribly around the theater until my stomach clenched. Jirka couldn’t leave with me, as the only son he had responsibilities, he didn’t miss a single training session with the animals. That’s what I liked about him, I understood that you can’t just break the tradition. But I didn’t have children at the time, so the theater won,” confided Alena Antalová in an interview for Rodina magazine.

She and her husband became pregnant a month after meeting
The most important moments of her life did not come until after the Christ years, when she met her future husband Josef Juráček, with whom she had four children: Alenka, Maruška, Jeník and Elenka. She got pregnant for the first time just a month after they met.
“The truth is that we took it in stride, but there was nothing to wait for. Pepa is in the construction business, and my friend Veronika introduced us, for whom she was building a fence. For about a month I listened to how amazing it was, she kept urging me to go check it out. So at one point I tell her more for fun – good, then show it to me. It just came in handy because I needed to move the sofa. Pepík also came with his then fourteen-year-old son Pepíček, the two of them got along wonderfully. The boy obviously had a role model in his dad, which got me at the time,” revealed the actress.
The husband’s son Josef is even already a father. “She works in her husband’s company and already has a little Pepíček. He started early, my husband is already a grandfather and I’m actually half a grandmother,” remarked Alena Antalová with a smile, whose acting skills can be remembered thanks to the film Summer with a Gentleman, which is broadcast on TV Prima on Sunday, July 31 from 8:15 p.m. In addition to her, we will see, for example, Jaromír Hanzlík, Lucia Vondráčková, Igor Bareš, Ivana Chýlková, Tereza Kostková or Jana Boušková in it.
