He is one of the greatest and most prolific directors and producers of our time – and one of the most controversial: Woody Allen. The screenwriter and director has been nominated 24 times for an Oscar and has been involved in over 50 films. Actor Alec Baldwin also had the honor of working with the successful film producer and was in front of the camera for films such as “Alice” or “Blue Jasmine”. But now the roles are reversed, as Alec Baldwin will bring Woody Allen in front of his own camera.
As Baldwin announced in an Instagram video, he will be featured in a live video on Instagram with Woody Allen on Tuesday. “Next Tuesday the 28th I’ll be on Instagram Live with,” Baldwin digresses, showing off the director’s latest book. Afterwards, Baldwin whispers the name “Woody Allen” into the camera.
Baldwin: “Not interested in the judgments of others”
The announcement comes as a surprise given that Woody Allen has remained silent publicly after being accused for the past few years: Most recently, the master director was the subject of the HBO documentary “Allen v. Farrow,” which investigated allegations of sexual abuse, raised by Allen’s adopted daughter Dylan Farrow.
Baldwin is clear that his interview guest is controversial: “Let me state first that I have no interest in the judgments and hypocritical contributions of others here,” writes the Hollywood star under the video, “I’m obviously someone who likes his has her own beliefs and cares about the speculations of others. If you think a trial should take the form of an HBO documentary, that’s up to you.”
