For Aldi Nord there are also positive things to report in the current crisis: “It is true that we are driving higher sales. Logically, because you have to consider that no one is on vacation, that there is almost no consumption outside the home. In this respect, the demand for goods is currently very high. “

But according to de Lope, the high demand for goods is also offset by very high costs: costs in procurement, for the adjustment of delivery and logistics processes, but also through security and hygiene measures in the markets. “That means, how the entire crisis will affect us and our operating results, we will have to finally evaluate.”
