Alberto Fernández warned that people mistakenly relaxed at the worst moment because the virus continues to circulate

“I feel that people see that they opened businesses and then life returned to normal, but the truth is that the virus is circulating,” said the Head of State in radio statements.

While defining for these hours the future of social, preventive and mandatory isolation whose last extension expires this Monday, The President said that he sees “with great concern” the increase in coronavirus cases in the country, adding that he also observes “a society that is very reluctant to return to strict quarantine.”

“The red button is always at hand,” responded the president when asked in an interview about the possibility of returning to stricter isolation: “I understand the boredom of the people, but I resort to the capacity of reflection of each one”, said.

Fernández asked the Argentines “to be very aware of the risks that we are running, that have not happened and that we must treat seriously”, and clarified that “the freedom of the people is not in question.”

“We must be very careful. We do not have the issue resolved, we are far from solving it,” the president said in statements to Radio Futurock.

In another part of the interview The President said that it seems “unusual” to him that the opposition does not want to discuss the judicial reform project in Congress and said that it is “part of the hypocritical discussion in Argentina.”

“One day we arrive and make a serious proposal, they decide not to discuss it because they do not like a commission that has nothing to do with that law. I am amazed. It seems unusual to me that they do not want to deal with it,” he said.
