Alassane Ouattara’s candidacy: here is what the artist and singer Alpha Blondy thinks – CAMEROON MAGAZINE – CAMEROUN INFO

The President of the Republic, Alassane Ouattara announced his candidacy on August 6, 2020, during his speech on the eve of the country’s independence day. This announcement generated several reactions in the political world as well as in the Ivorian artistic sphere.

After the reactions of Meiway, Billy Billy and many others who castigated this decision of the President of the Republic, the Ivorian reggeaman Alpha Blondy made a slightly more surprising exit on the will of the President of the Republic, Alassane Ouattara to run for office a 3rd term.

Speaking on this decision of Alassane Ouattara, Alpha Blondy indicated that Dialogue and Peace can advance the African continent. “What I said yesterday is valid today and will remain valid tomorrow. Unity-Dialogue-Peace », mentioned Alpha Blondy on his Facebook page. He forwarded his message to a video where he was interviewed by Rfi and France 24 talking about the independence of Francophone Africa.

This message from the famous Ivorian artist has aroused the anger of several Internet users, but on the other hand others have welcomed his message considered wise. “If every Ivorian could understand the words of Alpha Blondy whether it is Alassane Ouattara, Henri Konan Bédié and Laurent Gbagbo and even Soro Guillaume would not have the courage to declare his candidacy but we have reached a point where even interethnic alliances are perilous ”, wrote a user in comment.

On Alpha Blondy’s Facebook page, in response to his message another internet user wrote this: “Thank you Alpha, a star should always speak the right words for the strengthening of peace and cohesion. Let us know that everyone is responsible so Father Alpha Blondy I encourage you to speak in favor of peace and the program of living together. This defines the true quality of the star ”.

Recall that just after the announcement of President Alassane Ouattara to run for a third term, several demonstrations were observed in some cities of the country. This Thursday, August 13, as the Ivorian opposition had announced, young people stormed the streets across the country to block the Head of State’s desire to still be at the head of the country.
