The Viennese director and children’s theater specialist has completely reinterpreted the frequently edited fairy tale for the Darmstadt production. Alaaddin is a street boy who learns to take his fate into his own hands. Jasper Engelhardt plays this leading role, Marielle Layher can be seen as the genie in a bottle, and Ali Berber as the magician. Léa Zehaf plays the princess whose love Alaaddin wins.
