The application, which bears the name of “Home Vision Monitor”, can early detection of corneal and vision problems and send the results to the doctor in the event of a deterioration in the health of the eyes.

And the English “Moorfields” hospital tested the effectiveness of the application that can be downloaded on the mobile operating systems “Android” and “IOS” on about 360 patients who were asked to test their eyesight at least twice a week.

Constantinos Palaskas, consultant ophthalmic surgeon, and one of the members of the medical team participating in the application aspires to popularize the use of such applications that employ digital technologies to help doctors in early detection of diseases, which contributes to pushing the health situation forward, and reduces the pressure of the absorptive capacity experienced by many Departments of hospitals around the world.

For her part, the engineer, Jill Hopkins, head of the medical devices department of the English company “Roche” specialized in the field of health care, which is the company responsible for developing the application, believes that supporting such technologies and making them available to the public will reduce the pressures and burdens on hospitals, especially in light of the conditions that the world is witnessing due to Corona pandemic outbreak
