The bullet that killed Palestinian-American journalist Shireen Abu Akleh in Jenin was fired by Israeli forces, the UN Human Rights Office (OHCHR) concludes.

The experienced Al Jazeera journalist became shot in the head during an Israeli military operation in the occupied Palestinian West Bank on 11 May.
“All the information we have gathered is consistent with the fact that the shots that killed Shireen Abu Akleh and injured her colleague Ale Sammoudi were fired by Israeli security forces, and not from armed Palestinians,” OHCHR spokeswoman Ravina Shamdasani said on Friday, according to Al Jazeera.
She also says that the UN office has not found evidence that armed Palestinians were active in the immediate vicinity of the journalists.
–Other on-site press officers, eyewitnesses, Palestinian Authority and the employer has concluded that she was shot by an Israeli soldier, and the same has CNN and Washington Post who have conducted their own investigations.
Israeli spokesmen have not ruled out that she was killed by an Israeli sniper, but say they can not conclude this as the Palestinian Authority has refused to cooperate in the investigation and hand over the bullet she was hit by.
Chaos in the funeral procession
Shireen Abu Akleh was buried on May 13 at her birthplace in East Jerusalem, which is occupied by Israel.
Chaos broke out in the funeral procession, when Israeli special forces stormed the funeral procession and hit several people with batons. The coffin with Abu Akleh in it, almost fell to the ground.

The Palestinians were refused to carry the journalist’s coffin, and Israel insisted that the coffin be driven and that Palestinian flags could not be displayed.
However, the entourage broke with the Israeli wishes when they left the hospital, and were then attacked by Israeli security forces.
