Mohamed Jamal Al-Assi, the former CEO of Pyramids, confirmed that he brought Al-Ahly distinguished foreigners when he was a player agent, indicating that Al-Walid club had not considered contracting with Moroccan Walid Azzaro, Al-Ahmar striker.
“I brought to Al-Ahly distinguished foreign players between 2014 and 2015, which was not happening during the last period,” Al-Asi said, in a phone statement to the “Match” program on the “Echo of the Country” channel.
He added: “I previously offered Malik Evona to Al-Ahly for only 400 thousand dollars, but the club contracted with him for two million dollars.”
He continued: “Ahmed Hegazy was also offered to Al-Ahly, and Alaa Abdel-Sadiq was the director of the ball at the time, and the club refused to injure the player, but I succeeded in convincing them to sign him after his conversation with Mahmoud Taher, Al-Ahly president at the time.”
And he continued: “The Chinese offer to Azaro was not (a bridge) to move to Pyramids, the consultant Turki Al-Sheikh (the former owner of Pyramids) does not think so.”
Azaro’s former agent explained: “Al-Ahly imposed fines of up to $ 22 million on Azaro during the Chinese show.”
He stressed: “The only official offer we made to obtain a player from Al-Ahly was regarding Mohamed El-Shennawi, and he was rejected.”
The former CEO of Pyramids revealed: “We did not think about defrauding Al-Ahly for not obtaining the penalty clause from Abdullah Al-Saeed’s deal with Al-Ahly Jeddah when we contracted with him, and the player is the one who terminated his contract with the Saudi club.”
Al-Asi concluded, saying: “My relationship with Mahmoud Al-Khatib, President of Al-Ahly Club, is special, and when I was the CEO of Pyramids, I was an agent for Ali Maaloul and Azaro, and the duo renewed Al-Ahly without problems.”
