airBaltic to resume direct flights between Riga and Stuttgart in Germany – Transport and logistics – Financenet

Flights with Airbus A220-300 aircraft will be operated twice a week.

Martin Gauss, CEO of airBaltic, said the airline works with the authorities to keep up with the situation and is flexible to adjust flight schedules if necessary. “Every week, we add new destinations and offer additional flights to various European business centers and popular leisure destinations,” he said.

By the end of August, airBaltic plans to operate flights from the Baltics on 69 routes.

It has already been reported that in the first half of 2019, airBaltic carried 2.229 million passengers, including 528,449 passengers in June.

airBaltic’s audited turnover last year was 503.281 million euros, which is 23.1% more than in 2018, but the company suffered a loss of 7.729 million euros compared to the profit a year earlier. The airline forecasts that its turnover this year will be less than 200 million euros.

The Latvian state owns about 90% of airBaltic’s shares, while the financial investor, Danish businessman Lars Tussen, owns about 10% of Aircraft Leasing 1.
