Delhi Airport: an Air India flight, AI 315, arriving from Hong Kong on July 22nd, experienced a scare shortly after docking at the gate when a fire was detected in its auxiliary power unit (APU). The incident occurred while passengers were in the process of disembarking.

“Flight AI 315, operating from Hong Kong to Delhi on 22 July 2025, experienced an auxiliary power unit (APU) fire shortly after it had landed and parked at the gate. The incident occurred while passengers had begun disembarking, and the APU was automatically shut down as per system design. There was some damage to the aircraft; though, passengers and crew members disembarked normally, and are safe,” a spokesperson for Air India stated.

The aircraft has been taken out of service for a thorough technical inspection. Air India has also notified the relevant aviation regulatory body, which is expected to launch an self-reliant examination into the circumstances surrounding the APU fire.
