According to him, the Russian occupiers have already used the S-300 for attacks on Kharkov, the Dnieper, Nikolaev and Zaporozhye region, but Kyiv was attacked by them the day before for the first time.
“The enemy has been using S-300 missiles for a long time to strike at critical infrastructure objects that he is trying to destroy. But more often people suffer because the missiles fly out from a long distance, about 150 km, and thus hit. Since the greater the range, the more inaccuracy,” Ignat said.
He added that the invaders applied the same principle in Kyiv.
“How does this happen? That same air defense system could have been pulled up to the border from the north of the country in advance. We don’t say where it was … While we say that it was the northern direction. At night there was preparation for a terrorist act, so a rocket was fired,” Ignat said.
As the speaker of the command of the Armed Forces of the Armed Forces of Ukraine emphasized, the S-400 missile flies at a speed of more than 4 thousand km/h, and the S-300 – over 3 thousand km/h.
“There was a shelling with S-400 or S-300 missiles. S-300 of certain modifications, because not every missile flies to such a distance. And it was fired literally for two minutes from launch to explosions. Therefore, there is such a threat now. Certain measures will be taken steps exactly as regards the northern direction, in order to avoid such things that have happened,” Ignat concluded.
