Air Côte d’Ivoire resumes its domestic flights in compliance with the barrier measures linked to the Covid-19

Air Côte d’Ivoire effectively resumed, on Friday, its domestic flights, on the first day of the opening of the Ivorian sky for local flights, with a service on the Abidjan-Korhogo line, in strict compliance with the health protocols related to the Covid-19.

“We made the first Abidjan-Korhogo flight today with passengers who had their passes and masks”, the head of the national airline’s marketing department, Yacouba Fofana, told APA.

The other destinations, he said, should be served by flights according to the program. The company had announced the resumption of its domestic flights “From Abidjan to Korhogo, San Pedro, Man, Bouaké and Odienné from June 26, 2020”.

To slow the chain of contamination, Air Côte d’Ivoire has taken measures according to the protocol decreed by the Ivorian State and set up a sanitary system. These include controlling body temperature and washing or disinfecting hands.

Passengers will also be required to wear a mask (made compulsory in Abidjan, the epicenter of the disease) during the whole trip, with a distance at the aerodrome but not required on board the planes, which will be systematically disinfected after each flight.

The national airline company requires that passengers fill in a health declaration form, available on its website. This should make it possible to take all the necessary measures to protect customers in the face of the Covid-19 pandemic.

On the occasion of this takeover, Air Côte d’Ivoire has reorganized its flight schedules. The weekly frequencies of the services in June are three flights for Korhogo and San-Pedro then four flights in July. However, those from all other destinations will be two flights.

The Ivorian government opened Thursday the Ivorian skies for local services from June 26 and international flights from July 1, 2020. And this, according to health measures recommended by the National Security Council.
