Honda Team Asia racer Ai Ogura won an extraordinary victory in the 2022 Spanish Moto2 race at the Jerez Circuit, Sunday (1/5).
Ogura won a total victory of dominance in Moto2 Spain 2022. Starting the race from pole position, the Japanese racer won with a record time of 39 minutes 16.357 seconds.
This is Ogura’s first victory in Moto2 2022. Previously, Honda Team Asia had won this season through Somkiat Chantra at the Indonesian GP.
Aron Canet, who finished in second place, was unable to catch up with Ogura and was 2.509 seconds adrift. The third podium belongs to Marc VdS racer Tony Arbolino who is 3.669 seconds adrift.
For Canet to finish in second place is an extraordinary result. The reason is that the Spaniard just underwent surgery after experiencing a great accident at the MotoGP Portugal 2022, last weekend.
There was a lot of drama in the 2022 Spanish Moto2 race. Ogura’s teammate, Somkiat Chantra, failed to finish after suffering an accident while in fourth place. An accident also had occurred involving Jake Dixon with Fermin Aldeguer.
