CHUM‘s AI School Hosts Panel on Innovating Elder Healthcare
MONTREAL – the School of Artificial Intelligence in Health of the CHUM (EIAS) will host “Yum – Innovate to Rethink the Health of Our Elders” on wednesday, September 24 at noon, both at the Pierre Péladeau amphitheater and online. The event will tackle the critical challenge of adapting healthcare innovation to the evolving needs of an aging population, limited resources, and the unique circumstances of each senior.
As Canada’s population ages, the demand for innovative and sustainable elder care solutions is rapidly increasing. This “Yum” session, focused on applying the cycle of health innovation, will explore the obstacles and opportunities present at every stage – from initial concept to practical implementation, long-term viability, and value assessment. The discussion aims to provide actionable insights for those working to improve the health and wellbeing of seniors.
the panel will feature an interdisciplinary team leading a concrete project: Dr. Quoc Dinh Nguyen, an internist-geriatrician and clinician-researcher at the CHUM; Caroline Carignan, a clinician nurse with the CIUSSS de l’Ouest-de-l’Île-de-Montréal; Mathieu Brodeur, Deputy Director, Home Support, CIUSSS de l’Ouest-de-l’Île-de-Montréal; and Valérie Larochelle, co-founder and CEO of Eugeria.
Gaëlle Hermans, educational advisor toac, will moderate the discussion, focusing on fostering relevant, human-centered, and agile approaches to health innovation.
