Agreement on EU Corona aid, quarantine over Vorarlberg areas lifted

The quarantine for the Vorarlberg Arlberg region and districts of Nenzing (district Bludenz) was lifted on Friday. Governor Markus Wallner (ÖVP) informed in a video press conference on Friday that all locals are allowed to leave their places again on Saturday. Strict departure management applies to the approximately 1,000 seasonal workers who are still in Lech.

In addition to the Arlberg region with the towns of Lech, Stuben (as part of Klösterle), Schröcken and Warth (since March 17), two districts of the municipality of Nenzing (since March 22) have also been quarantined since March 22. A total of 7,443 people were affected. The basis for the lifting of the quarantine was the testing of 288 people in the quarantine areas who showed symptoms. Only 17 (5.9 percent) of the 288 tests were positive. “This is significantly below the Vorarlberg-wide average of the past three weeks, which amounted to 15.5 percent,” said Wallner.
