Again, there is talk of an Apple M1X: 32 GB of RAM and 2 times more powerful GPUs

Processors Apple M1 delivers really high performance with pleasantly low consumption. Computers Mac mini and laptops MacBook Air a 13″ Pro so they got a nice performance boost. But for classic iMacs, Macy Pros or more powerful versions of MacBook Pros, that may not be enough. 8 cores and a maximum of 16 GB of RAM are not much for high-end machines. That’s why there has been talk of a 5nm processor for some time Apple M1X, which should replace Intel processors in more powerful computers. According to the latest information, there is again talk of 12 cores, which should be in the configuration of 8 powerful and 4 energy-saving ARM cores. The frequency of the powerful ones should remain around 3.2 GHz.

The graphics chip is to undergo a welcome improvement. Instead of 7-8 cores in the current M1, the M1X should have 16 cores and 256 EU. Graphics performance should double, outperforming a typical integrated GPU. As for TDP, so far there is talk of a value of 35 W, which is a decent value given the performance of the CPU and GPU, it should be configurable at 45 W.

Above all, it is important to increase the maximum amount of integrated RAM from 16 GB to 32 GB. The new processors are expected to be introduced in Apple’s new computers in the second quarter of this year. However, I am afraid that traditionally it will not be a cheap matter. E.g. the current Mac mini is a surprisingly advantageous offer in the basic variant (not only for Apple’s conditions), but any upgrade will become significantly more expensive (surcharges for RAM and SSD are huge).
