The number of unemployed in the district of the Freiburg Employment Agency fell again in November. As of the reporting date, a total of 12,566 women and men were unemployed in the city of Freiburg and the districts of Breisgau-Hochschwarzwald and Emmendingen. That is 392 people less than a month earlier. The unemployment rate fell by 0.1 points to 3.4 percent. In the urban district of Freiburg, 6,057 people were registered as unemployed. That is 219 or 3.5 percent less than in the previous month and 16.7 percent less than in November 2020. The unemployment rate in Freiburg fell by 0.1 points to 4.8 percent.
The decline in unemployed was above average for November, says the managing director of the employment agency Andreas Finke. He is impressed with how stable the job market is in the current situation. The demand for labor remains high. The companies reported 1175 vacancies in the entire district. That is 8.6 percent less than in October, but 21.5 percent more than a year ago.
