In the past 24 hours, 122 new infections with the coronavirus were detected. That is again fewer than in recent days. This is evident from the daily update of Sciensano.
Yesterday, 23 new corona patients were admitted to the hospital. At the same time, 24 people were allowed to leave Belgian hospitals. There are currently still 573 corona patients in the hospitals, of whom 116 are on intensive care (+5).
The number of new infections continues to decrease: 122. Last week we saw a sudden increase from 82 (Thursday) to 140 (Friday), 165 (Saturday) and 154 (Sunday). It therefore appears that the downward trend is continuing. In total, 59,348 Belgians became infected with the lung virus.
Unfortunately, 11 people died of the corona virus in the past 24 hours. The total death toll is now 9,606.
