Death toll in Italy is rising more slowly

In Italy, 542 new coronavirus deaths have been recorded in the last 24 hours. That is 62 fewer than Tuesday’s 604. However, the number of confirmed infections has risen sharply, by 3,836 compared to 3,039 on Tuesday. The death toll now stands at 17,669, which is still the highest number of deceased corona patients worldwide.

The good news is that the number of people in intensive care has decreased for the fifth day in a row. Where on Tuesday there were 3,792 corona patients in Italy on the ICU, there are now 3,693.
