The clubhouse ofAG Caen (Calvados), on the facilities of the IUT Caen-Nord, was a little cramped, Monday, December 6, 2021, on the occasion of the small ceremony organized for the presentation of two labels to the club’s football school. The French Football Federation (FFF), through the hands of the President of the District of Calvados, Bertrand Voisin, distinguished the Avant-Garde for its male sections (Excellence label) and female (Gold label, the highest level). “It’s a great reward for the club, for its educators and volunteers who work on a daily basis,” smiles Fabrice Dartois, president of AG Caen.
Ambition and family spirit
With 515 licensees, the club from the north of Caen strives to reconcile progress, with a flag team in National 3, and conviviality, with very committed parents. Alexandre Lecerf-Gosselin, responsible for this label within the club last season, observes:
These labels reward sporting, educational and associative aspects at the same time. The FFF looks at both the level of play, the number of qualified educators, and the implementation of its educational program.
Félix Legras and Benoît Sauveur, managers of men’s and women’s football schools (from U6 to U18), dispense these principles on the IUT grounds, at each training session.
Soon new premises
Beyond the plaques affixed to the entrance to the locker rooms, these labels will allow the club “to build loyalty and be even more attractive,” hopes Alexandre Lecerf-Gosselin. It shows that parents can trust us for their children ”.
The club intends to develop these values with new administrative premises in 2022, still on the IUT site. “The budget was voted by the town hall, appreciates Fabrice Dartois. Work should start early next year ”. The clubhouse will then be able to accommodate more people for the next ceremony.
