On Saturday, cyclists in the section with Lura were waiting for the 36.2-kilometer-long section with a separate start.

Pogačars crossed the finish line the fastest, who is 57 seconds behind the overall leader Rogličs. The second stage was Toms Dumulēns from the Netherlands, who was one minute and 21 seconds behind, and the third with the same time – the teammate of the second Latvian cyclist Toma Skujiņa (“Trek – Segafredo”) from Australia, Ričijs Porte.

Skujiņš took the 127th place, riding nine minutes and 40 seconds slower than the winner, but in the 46th place with six minutes and 18 seconds behind Neilands, the best of Latvian cyclists, finished.

In the overall standings, the yellow leader’s shirt will now be applied by Pogačars, who is 59 seconds ahead of his compatriot Rogličs. The third with three and a half minutes behind the leader is Porte. Former third-place owner Miguel Angel Lopez (“Astana Pro”) of Colombia, on the other hand, lost six minutes and 17 seconds to the winner on Saturday, being one place above Neiland, and resigned to sixth place in the overall standings.

Herring takes 80th place with less than three hours and 53 minutes behind the leader, but Neilands loses less than four hours and ten minutes to the leader and ranks five places lower.

Also in the king of the mountain, Pogačars is now ahead of the current leader, Ecuadorian Richard Karapas. Herringbone has slipped two places lower and is 18th with 24 points, but Neiland is in 50th place with two points.

In the sprinter test, where the leader is the Irish Sem Bennett, ahead of the fiercest rival Slovakia Peter Sagan, Skujiņš 38th, but Neiland – 88th place.

In the overall team test, the Skujiņa unit for the leader “Movistar” loses more than an hour and a half and takes the sixth place.

The last stage of the competition will take place on Sunday. On that relatively flat track, with one climb of the fourth category, you have to measure 122 kilometers from Montlaggio to Paris.

For Neiland, this is his debut in France, but Skujiņš is participating in this competition for the third year in a row.

The Tour de France, which is rightly considered one of the largest sporting events in the world, is celebrating its 107th anniversary this year.

Last year, Skujiņš finished in the ninth place in the 17th stage, but in 2018 he was in the fifth place in one of the stages, as well as several stages in the mountain king’s shirt. Last year, Skujiņš finished in the 81st position in the overall rating.

The last time two Latvians were together in the “Tour de France” was in 2002. At that time, Arvis Piziks and Raivis Belohvoščiks each rode in their team.

In total, the French tour is scheduled for 21 stages this year, finishing on September 20 in the Champs Elysées.
