After Ticketmaster, other sellers also return service costs in the event of cancellation

From now on, concert ticket sellers will also reimburse the service costs if a concert is canceled or postponed. Eventim, See Tickets and members of the Association of Dutch Music Venues and Festivals (VNPF) have promised this to the Consumer Association.

The VNPF has 108 members including Paradiso, TivoliVredenburg, Lowlands and Pinkpop. Last year, Ticketmaster already decided to reimburse service costs after reporting by the NOS and a call from the Consumer Association.

Service costs are the costs that ticket companies charge to deliver the ticket to you plus some profit. It is often about 10 percent of the total ticket price. For example, for the Alanis Morissette concert in Carré next week, you pay up to 16 euros in service costs.

The Netherlands Authority for Consumers and Markets (ACM) has been saying for years that you are entitled to a refund of the full amount if a concert is canceled or postponed if you cannot do so on the new date. But many companies did not comply with this. It often happens that organizers move or cancel concerts, often because an artist is sick.
