This Sunday, the president of the Federation of Truck Owners of the South (Fedesur), Jose Villagrán, said that the group has already voted and approved a national strike as a result of the latest arson attacks that have affected the sector.
It was this Saturday that a new act of violence was recorded, where a 9-year-old girl was injured.
In this regard, Villagrán told Emol that this last fact was what “overflowed the glass”.
“The strike has already been voted and approved at the national level, we need to define how we are going to do it,” he said to the aforementioned media.
In addition, Villagrán again summoned the Government, criticizing the security measures that exist for truckers and assured that they have not been heard.
“The government, moreover, does not even react to that. They haven’t listened to us. The Minister of the Interior, an absent man, because he has not said anything about what happened, “he added.
As the leader of Fedesur said, it is expected that this afternoon the group, after a meeting, will announce the demonstration measures that they will carry out after this new attack.
For his part, in conversation with Radio Bío Bío, the president of the National Confederation of Truck Owners of Chile, Juan Araya, warned that “if the perpetrators are not located (…) this is going to explode”.
